Jeannine’s first love is stage. Her deftness with the comedy touch has
made her unique as a leading lady throughout the United States. As the star
of Man of La Mancha, the critics wrote such
praises as, "exploitive,” “ her
voice magnificent,” . . . “Her portrayal of Aldonza glitters with that inner
fire of a consummate actress!” Doing a cinokete turn-around as Gooch in
Mame,
she again "garnered top notices, almost stealing the show from Mame herself!"
She has co-starred with Guy Madison in
The Girl in the
Freudian Slip, Ken
Berry in I Do,
I Do!, and Dwayne Hickman in
Six Rooms Riv Vu, in which she
was called the finest actress yet to play the role of Ann Miller!
In 1977 alone, she co-starred with Forest Tucker in Showboat, and joined
Bob Cummings as his leading lady in a record breaking tour of
Marriage-Go-Round. At Casa Manana, she repeated the role of Gooch in
Mame,
with outstanding notices and closed the season co-starring with Ed Ames in
I
Do, I Do! at the famous Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago.
Her last show, prior to co-starring with Dick Sargent in
Tunnel of Love,
was Forty Carats, in Los Angeles, where she received such critical acclaim
that the show was held over by popular demand. This was followed by her
smashing success as Doris in Same Time Next Year and finally,
California
Suite with Tom Poston.
Jeannine was voted finest comedic actress of the year in
Southern California for her portrayal of all three women in
California
Suite.
